Sydney Sixers pull off thrilling victory against Nashua Titans, enter final

Sydney Sixers registered a thrilling two-wicket win over Nashua Titans in the second semi-final clash of Champions League T20 2012 at Centurion on Friday.
 
Needing 164 runs to qualify for the finals, Sydney Sixers’ innings got off to a good start as Michael Lumb and Steve O’Keefe put on 54 runs for the opening wicket.
 
By the end of the eighth over, Sydney had crossed 80 runs losing just one wicket.
 
Earlier, Nashua Titans set a challenging target of 164 for Sydney Sixers to chase.
 
Henry Davids was the star for the Titans scoring a 44-ball 59.
 
Titans’ innings got off to a poor start as they lost opener Jacques Rudolph in the first over of the match for one.
 
By the sixth over of the match, Titans were down to 36 for three with Davids and Farhan Behardien at the crease. They steadied the innings with a 46 run partnership for the fourth wicket.
 
However, Titan’s innings gained momentum after David Wiese came to the crease at the loss of the fifth wicket with the score on 82. He scored 61 runs in 28 balls.
 
Along with Davids, Wiese took the Titans score to 163 adding 81 runs for the sixth wicket.
 
Sydney Sixers will now face Highveld Lions in the finals of the fourth edition of the tournament.
