Highveld Lions storm into final with 22-run win over Delhi Daredevils

Chris Morris and Aaron Phangiso led an inspired Highveld Lions' bowling attack to guide them to the final of Champions League T20 2012, after a commanding 22-run win over the Delhi Daredevils in Durban on Thursday.

Chasing a modest total of 140 to win, Delhi could manage only117 for nine from their allotted 20 overs.

Earlier, Gulam Bodi struck a fluent half-century and Neil McKenzie scored 46 not out to lift Highveld Lions to a challenging total of 139 for five against Delhi Daredevils in their semi-final match of the Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) 2012 at Durban on Thursday.

Asked to bat first, local side Lions made a cautious approach in their innings.

Opening pair of Alviro Petersen and Bodi added 34 runs, before the former was removed by Umesh Yadav for 24.

Quinton de Kock flopped with the bat as he could manage only 11 off 13 balls, and fell to Ajit Agarkar in the 10th over.

The Daredevils shifted momentum towards their end when Pawan Negi struck to dismiss Dwaine Pretorious for three.

But, the Lions fought back with a 59–run stand for the fourth wicket between Bodi and Neil McKenzie to reach 139 for five.
