Sri Lanka opener Tillakaratne Dilshan will miss the remainder of the one-day series with New Zealand due to a back injury.
The right-hander sustained the problem ahead of the third ODI but batted through the pain to score a match-winning century as the hosts took a 2-0 lead in the series.
Right-hander Chamara Kapugedera has been drafted in for the last two matches, both of which take place at Hambantota on Saturday and Monday. Dinesh Chandimal is favourite to replace Dilshan, however, as an original member of the squad.
Team manager Charith Senanayake confirmed: "Dilshan strained his lower back during a warm-up session ahead of the third one-day match at Pallekele on Tuesday and he batted with pain-killers. He will not play in the two remaining games."
Sri Lanka will hope the rest period will allow Dilshan to be ready in time for the first Test against New Zealand in Galle, starting next Saturday.
