Dilshan served summons to appear in courts

For not having paid compensation to his child a sum of Rs 20,000/= as compensation in his previous marriage
Although he derives a monthly income of Rs 120,000/-
The former Sri Lankan cricket captain Tillekeratna Dilshan has been served summons to appear in courts on the 6th March. The reason is that his previous wife Nilanka Vithange had filed action as he had failed to pay the compensation of Rs 20,000/=monthly to her as compensation for the daughter as ordered by courts.
Dilshan is a millionaire but had failed to pay for three years the Insurance premium for his daughter in the previous marriage as agreed to courts. In addition he has not paid the daughters compensation fees from last November. This had left the girl’s mother Nilanka Vithanage to be indebted in meting her expenses. Her lawyer had informed courts and accordingly and as a result summons had been issued.
What the lawyers say is that a person of Dishan’s financial standing if he says he cannot afford it is a fake story. At the case he had to produce his assets statement. His total assets including properties had been submitted as amounting to Re 2500 lakhs.
In terms of the payments h receives from the SLC alone is Rs 1260 lakhs in addition to a monthly income of Rs 120 lakhs. He is paid a sum of Rs 625000/- for a test match fee and sun of Rs 375000./- for a one day International. For a 20/20 match he is paid Rs 275000/-In addition for playing in the IPL between the years 2008/2012 his contract fees had been Rs 3000/- lakhs.
In addition he had earned sums of Rs 500 lakhs for playing in the world cup 2011, Rs 180 lakhs and for playing in the T20/20 and for playing in the SLPL,  he had been paid Rs 62 lakhs in the year 2012
Having earned so much of money for not paying compensation for his daughter in the previous marriage is very unfair. When he was summoned earlier he did not appear in courts he did not appear as he was participating in matches for the National side. But he had not made any attempts to pay the compensation fees as ordered by the courts. However he will have to appear before courts on the 6th match.
