started off its campaign in the ACC Twenty20 Cup tournament with a
44-run win over Oman in a Group B match on the opening day on Tuesday.
Afghanistan batting first was bowled out for 150 in 18.5 overs. In its response Oman was shot out for 106 in 19.1 overs.
The chief-wrecker for Afghanistan was captain Mohammad Nabi who picked four for 18 and was voted Man of the Match for his performance.
In the other matches of the day, Hong Kong got the better of Malaysia by six wickets in a Group A match .
Nepal registered a 76-run win over Maldives in another Group A encounter.
In the final encounter of the day, UAE beat Kuwait by five wickets.
